The meeting witnessed the announcement of the launch of the Friends of Jordan Media Network, to be a platform for sustainable communication with media professionals and institutions in Japan, supporting the Jordanian tourism presence in the Japanese media landscape, and facilitating the exchange of content, information, and tourism stories, contributing to keeping Jordan continuously present in front of the Japanese public, and transforming the momentum achieved by the visit into a long-term media partnership.
The meeting discussed the importance of media as one of the most important bridges to reach the Japanese traveler, and its role in transforming knowledge about the destination into interest, and interest into a travel decision, through content capable of presenting Jordan in its true tourism language, away from stereotypes, and reflecting the depth, diversity, and richness of the experience.
During the visit, the delegation worked on a number of key axes, foremost of which was enhancing cooperation with Japanese tourism institutions, expanding partnerships with tourism and travel companies, and opening direct channels between tour organizers in the two countries, contributing to developing programs more in line with the interests of the Japanese market and increasing the flow of visitors to the Kingdom.
The air connectivity file also occupied a fundamental space in the program of work, through meetings held by the delegation with Japanese airlines, and reviewing opportunities and means of developing connectivity between Jordan and Japan, considering it one of the main pillars for facilitating access and enhancing the growth of tourism movement between the two countries.
The discussions also focused on developing the experience of the Japanese tourist within the Kingdom, extending their stay, and expanding their visit path to include as many sites and destinations as possible, alongside enhancing the marketing and media presence of Jordan to ensure the sustainability of this presence and its transformation into tangible results on inbound tourism movement.
The visit reflected a trend towards building a deeper and more sustainable relationship with the Japanese market, based on the integration of tourism, travel, aviation, and media, and moving from merely introducing Jordan to establishing its position as a present destination in the options and interests of the Japanese traveler.
The delegation, headed by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Emaad Hijazi, included the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Japan, Nasser Al-Shuraidah, and the Jordanian Embassy staff in Tokyo, Hani Al-Dabbas, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Hotels Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Authority, and Nbeh Rial, President of the Inbound Tourism Association.
