It was also agreed to start a field monitoring campaign on October 7, to be implemented by the authority's teams in cooperation with the relevant and competent authorities.
The campaign includes requesting trips through applications, to ensure that the car is licensed to operate in this activity, and that the captain is authorized to practice it, as compliance requires meeting both conditions together.
According to the agreed arrangements, if ten violations are detected in the company within one week, related to vehicle licenses or captain permits, it will result in the liquidation of five thousand dinars from the guarantee, while exceeding twenty violations within one week will result in the liquidation of ten thousand dinars from it.
The meeting reviewed the results achieved by the companies in regulatory and operational compliance; Uber and Careem companies showed compliance with vehicle licensing and captain permits requirements, and Taxi F company made progress in electronic linking and registering new captains. Gene company achieved compliance with vehicle licensing and captain permits within Amman city, while continuing to issue captain permits and working to complete compliance in the rest of the Kingdom's regions. Petra Ride company achieved good results in regulatory and operational compliance.
To encourage companies to comply and facilitate the registration of captains, they were allowed, after exceeding the threshold of three thousand captains, to pay in advance for registering batches of 250 captains instead of one thousand captains per batch, which allows the registration to be completed gradually.
The companies expressed their readiness to continue correcting the situation and completing the requirements, while the authority confirmed that the deadline for completing the commitment would not be open, and its duration would be determined according to the results achieved by each company. The companies submit reports indicating what they have achieved in vehicle licensing and obtaining captain permits, and what remains to be completed, and the authority will inform all companies of these reports.
In the framework of positive incentives, the authority will announce on its website the companies that have complied or achieved good results, with an explanation of the aspects of compliance and achievement for each company, in appreciation of their efforts and to inform the public about them. It will also support companies that show readiness to comply, by highlighting their steps and the results they achieve through the website, which helps their spread and encourages them to complete the requirements.
The authority confirmed that companies practicing the activity without obtaining a license will be dealt with according to the provisions of the law, through the relevant and competent authorities, noting that practicing the activity illegally entails legal and regulatory consequences that negatively affect the passenger, the captain, and the entity practicing the activity, and affect their rights and interests.
These procedures are to enhance compliance with the tariff, vehicle licensing, and captain permits, and to encourage responsive companies, in order to raise the level of service and enhance the confidence of smart application users.
