Kite Festival and Cultural Seminars in Al-Balqa

The Directorate of Culture in Al-Balqa Governorate, in cooperation with the Al-Salt branch of the Wasatia Forum for Thought and Culture and the Arab Child Forum, organized a kite festival yesterday evening, Saturday, in the Mugharib area.

The festival featured a distinct entertaining and cultural atmosphere, with wide participation from local community children amidst an atmosphere of joy and cheer, reflecting the importance of cultural and artistic events in investing children's time and enhancing their interaction with their societal surroundings.

On the other hand, the Directorate organized a cultural and heritage evening that included a seminar titled "Jordan: The Land of Prophets and Companions," presented by the former Mufti of Al-Salt, Dr. Hani Al-Abed. During the seminar, he addressed the religious and historical status of Jordan and the milestones rich with the biographies of prophets and companions, reviewing a part of the civilizational and spiritual heritage that forms an authentic part of the Jordanian national memory.

The evening included a folkloric performance presented by the Arab Child Forum Girls Troupe, a poetic recitation by Rania Abu Huwailah, in addition to a Rababa playing segment performed by musician Ghaleb Al-Sahloul.

This event comes within the efforts of the Directorate of Culture to enhance the presence of culture in society and organize qualitative programs that combine knowledge and entertainment, contributing to reaching various groups, especially children, through purposeful interactive events.

In a related context, the preparatory committee for managing the Jordanian Writers Association / Al-Salt branch, in the presence of Al-Balqa Governorate Director of Culture Dr. Mona Saud, organized an interactive participatory dialogue seminar titled "Is the Jordanian Novel Afraid of its Geography? The Unspoken Place Between Presence and Absence in Jordanian Narrative.. Al-Balqa as a Model," at Al-Jadour Café in downtown Al-Salt.

The seminar featured speeches by short story writer Samia Al-Atout, novelist Dr. Mukhlid Barakat, and journalist and writer Kamel Al-Nusairat, while short story writer Hadeel Al-Rahamneh moderated the dialogue.

The seminar came within the framework of the cultural and literary movement witnessed by the city of Al-Salt, and the keenness of the Jordanian Writers Association to open spaces for dialogue and discussion on issues of Jordanian literature and narrative.
