Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh, during an inspection tour of the National Electrical Appliances Factory, on Thursday, affirmed that local industries are an integral part of the nation's renaissance, emphasizing the need to continue supporting Jordanian products, considering them a priority of the government to achieve developmental goals, meet needs, and enhance employment opportunities for Jordanians.

Kharabsheh emphasized that the government prioritizes supporting the local product and enhancing the national industry by ensuring the presence of the national product in government projects and opening broader horizons for partnership with industrialists, thereby enhancing the industrial sector's contribution to implementing development projects and supporting the national economy.

During the tour, Kharabsheh reviewed the production lines and lighting units produced by the factory, their technical specifications, and their advantages in energy consumption efficiency. He also listened to an explanation about the production stages of the lighting units, their inspection and evaluation mechanisms, the characteristics of energy-efficient LED units, and the technical specifications adopted in their production.

The visit comes within the framework of monitoring the implementation of the 'Replacement of Lighting Units with Energy-Efficient LED Units' project launched by the Ministry at the expense of the Rural Dirham, in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Administration and Municipalities, and covered the governorates of Mafraq, Ajloun, and Jerash, where about 140,000 lighting units were installed in the northern region.

The minister also reviewed the units supplied to the project, which underwent field inspection and evaluation according to the approved technical specifications and requirements, and listened to an explanation about the results of the inspections and the procedures followed to verify their quality and efficiency.

The visit aims to review the capabilities of the local industry in producing lighting units and to monitor the readiness of national products to contribute to energy efficiency projects in the Kingdom.

The National Electrical Appliances Factory was established in 1984 and operates in the field of producing lighting units and accessories, contributing to supplying lighting projects with locally manufactured products.
