The Karak Governorate Council affirmed that the terrorist crime that targeted the church in the village of Hamoud and targeted innocent people will not undermine the unity and cohesion of Jordanians, nor will it succeed in harming the national and social fabric of Karak.
The head of the council committee, Ismat Al-Majali, expressed on his own behalf and on behalf of the committee members his pride in the firm royal stance of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, noting that His Majesty kept his promise, as our security services were able to arrest the perpetrators of the attack, in an achievement that embodies the ability of the Jordanian state to impose the rule of law, protect the security of the homeland and citizens, and hold accountable anyone who dares to tamper with Jordan's security and stability.
Al-Majali emphasized that Karak will remain for all its people, and the relationship between Muslims and Christians there will remain a witness to a long history of brotherhood and shared national stances, and that what unites Jordanians is greater than all attempts at sedition, and that Jordan's strength lies in the unity of its people, their awareness, and their rallying around their Hashemite leadership and state institutions.
Al-Majali continued, "From our position in the Karak Governorate Council, we clarify that our responsibility towards our people does not stop at condemnation and denunciation, but extends to working to strengthen societal cohesion, standing by those affected, and protecting Karak's national and human heritage."
The Council extended its deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, asking God Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.
