Raqi Al-Habashneh, one of the injured in the terrorist attack that targeted a church in the village of Hamoud in Karak Governorate on Friday, affirmed that Christians are an authentic component of Jordanian society and have made significant contributions to building the nation across various sectors, stressing that they have offered martyrs and fighters, and have contributed sincerely to serving Jordan.
In an interview with "Al-Mamlaka" on Saturday, Al-Habashneh said, "The Christian is a son of this nation; the Christian is from the roots of this nation," emphasizing that Christians have offered the nation martyrs and fighters, and have made significant contributions in various sectors, including doctors and engineers who work with sincerity, honesty, and integrity.
He added that the terrorist attack targeted unarmed citizens who were participating in funeral rites inside the church, confirming that "the bullet does not distinguish between a Christian and a Muslim," and that the perpetrators of the crime do not distinguish between the sons of the same nation.
Al-Habashneh recounted the details of the moments preceding the attack, saying that the shooting began about 10 minutes after the participants were in the church courtyard during the funeral procession of a woman from the village, in the presence of her family members and the people of Karak Governorate.
