Jordan is preparing to host a prominent international sports and tourism event, with the launch of "Jordan Mixed Martial Arts Week" from October 27 to 30, with the participation of Jordanian and international athletes and the presence of sports stars, as part of a program that combines professional fights, public activities, and tourist visits, culminating in the "DF: UNCAGED" fight night.
The event is held under the supervision of the Jordan Mixed Martial Arts Federation, with the support and cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board, the Greater Amman Municipality, the Ministry of Government Communication, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Youth, and the Public Security Directorate.
The event program includes 13 fights, with the participation of Jordanian champions alongside fighters from several countries, allowing Jordanian athletes to compete in front of their home crowd and showcase their abilities in an event that receives regional and international media attention.
The guest hosting program includes personalities from the worlds of sports, art, and content creation.
The program begins on Tuesday, October 27, with a press conference at the Odeon Theater, next to the Roman Amphitheater, to present the details of the event and the fights, with the participation of organizers, a number of fighting athletes, and guests, in the presence of the media.
The Dead Sea Corniche will host open training sessions for the fighters on Wednesday, October 28, allowing the public to follow their preparations and interact with them, in an activity that links sports to one of Jordan's most prominent tourist destinations, aiming to stimulate activity at the site and highlight it within the coverage accompanying the week.
The Citadel in the capital, Amman, will host the official weigh-in event for the fighters on Thursday, October 29, in preparation for the fight night held on Friday, October 30, at the Roman Amphitheater, which will include artistic, heritage, and entertainment segments.
The guest program also includes visits to tourist and archaeological sites in the Kingdom to learn about the diversity of Jordanian destinations and their cultural and natural experiences, and to highlight them through media coverage and content that guests share with their followers around the world.
The organizers pointed out that the media plan aims to attract regional and international coverage for both the sports and tourism aspects of the event, including "MBC" channels and the "Shahid" platform, the Brazilian "Globo" network, the American "USA Today" and "MMA Weekly," and the "FloGrappling" platform specialized in combat sports, in addition to other television channels and local media outlets.
The organizers emphasized that the week aims to support sports tourism and diversify the experiences that Jordan offers its visitors by holding activities in Amman, the Dead Sea, and various tourist destinations, and linking the competitions to introducing tourist and archaeological sites in various regions of the Kingdom and encouraging visits to them.
The event allows for showcasing Jordan's tourism wealth to an international audience through sports, by highlighting the Kingdom's history, its cultural and natural diversity, and the hospitality of its people, and linking its civilizational heritage to a contemporary life that welcomes visitors and hosts sports and cultural events.
The participation of athletic fighters and international guests, along with the accompanying digital content and media coverage, also allows for conveying stories about Jordan, its sites, its culture, and its people to new segments of the audience, supporting its presence as a destination for tourism and hosting events.
Organizational, field, and media arrangements are being prepared in cooperation with the relevant authorities to receive participants and the public, while taking into account the privacy of archaeological sites and the requirements for their preservation.
Ticket sales for the week's events and the fight night scheduled at the Roman Amphitheater on October 30 have begun via the "Tajerati" platform, according to the categories available for booking.
