The police added that the forces confiscated a number of vehicles during the operation, while the army and border police carried out other measures targeting illegal settlement outposts, violations of military orders, and the seizure of a Palestinian home.
Assault on Washington Post journalist
The arrests came after masked settlers attacked American photojournalist Heidi Levine, who works for The Washington Post, on Friday while she was covering the Palestinian olive harvest season near the village of Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah.
Circulated video clips showed settlers beating Levine after knocking her to the ground, while the journalist said she was kicked repeatedly and the attackers stole her equipment and phone. She was taken to the hospital for treatment, and press reports indicated that she suffered fractures in several vertebrae of her spine, in addition to other injuries.
The assault sparked American and Israeli condemnation, as the US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, called for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the attack, while the administration of President Donald Trump demanded that Israeli authorities take more effective measures to deter settler attacks in the West Bank.
