The "Irbid Reads" initiative and its partners from educational, pedagogical, and civil society institutions in Irbid Governorate expressed their sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the Irbid Youth Directorate, represented by its director, Mr. Issa Al-Tawalbeh, for their exceptional efforts and prominent role in supporting and ensuring the success of the 2026 National Reading Marathon, and for providing youth incubators that support culture and knowledge.
The head of the "Irbid Reads" initiative, Mahmoud Alawneh, emphasized that the pioneering role played by the Irbid Youth Directorate constituted a fundamental pillar in the success of the marathon. This was reflected in opening and equipping 17 youth centers with books, stories, and halls dedicated to reading, which welcomed hundreds of students and youth during the activities of the National Reading Day, thereby providing an exemplary and motivating environment for sustainable reading.
The partners praised the complementary harmony between youth work and cultural and educational institutions in the governorate, stressing that these joint efforts contribute tangibly to enhancing the role of the book as a permanent friend in the daily lives of our children, and to building a reading, conscious, and knowledge-empowered society.
For his part, the Director of Youth for Irbid Governorate, Issa Al-Tawalbeh, emphasized that the directorate is always keen to provide interactive spaces that embrace youth energies and direct them towards self-education and awareness-building, adding: "This marathon constitutes a national space to celebrate knowledge, and an opportunity to enhance cooperation between youth, cultural, and scientific entities in order to spread the culture of reading and root it as a sustainable societal value."
