The chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Irbid Chamber of Industry affirmed that the continuous attention of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Economic Modernization Vision reflects high royal commitment to strengthening the resilience of the national economy, with tangible impacts on driving economic growth, stimulating the investment environment, and improving citizens' standards of living.
Hani Abu Hassen, Chairman of the Irbid Chamber of Industry and Deputy Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Industry, said that the content of the Royal Speech delivered by His Majesty during the opening of the first ordinary session of the twentieth Parliament reflects a clear strategic vision linking comprehensive economic development to improving citizens' lives and enhancing the national economy’s ability to confront challenges and capitalize on available opportunities. He emphasized that the national industrial sector represents one of the main pillars for achieving the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision, contributing nearly one-quarter of the gross domestic product and playing an active role in generating employment, added value, and boosting national exports to global markets.
Chamber board members—Deputy Chairman Engineer Ma'moun Halaweh, Secretary General Dr. Nidal Al-Hasse, Deputy Secretary General Amin Al-Ramahi, Treasurer Khaled Al-Khrashqeh, Deputy Treasurer Ma'moun Khudr, Engineer Mohammad Awwais, Hussein Al-Daraiseh, and Mazen Al-Ramah—affirmed that His Majesty's emphasis on real development being measured by citizens' tangible improvements in livelihood, opportunities, and their children's future embodies the fundamental objective of the Economic Modernization Vision. They stressed that economic success is not limited to achieving growth in indicators and figures, but extends to the productive sectors' ability to generate jobs, improve income levels, and expand opportunities for Jordanian youth.
The board members emphasized that accelerating the implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision targets—particularly those related to investment, industry, export, and employment—will enhance the national economy’s productive and competitive capacities and solidify the industrial sector’s role in leading sustainable growth. They noted that major ongoing projects represent a crucial foundation for supporting the national economy, developing infrastructure, and strengthening Jordan’s position as a regional hub for business and investment, requiring concerted efforts to expedite their completion and achieve their developmental goals.
