The course was supervised by Lieutenant Yazan Al-Shiab from the Civil Defense Directorate, aiming to enhance workers' awareness of the risks associated with handling chemicals, and to raise the level of compliance with occupational safety and health procedures, thereby contributing to reducing accidents and risks within the work environment.
The first session covered a number of topics related to occupational safety and safe handling of chemicals, including the identification of types of chemicals and their risks, types of chemical burns and their causes and methods of prevention, as well as the identification of warning symbols and labels and chemical safety data sheets (MSDS/SDS), and methods of reading and understanding the information contained therein.
