Iran discusses mediation with Pakistan and conditions restoring trust in Washington on the implementation of the Hormuz proposal

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed mediation efforts and regional developments during a meeting with Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir in Tehran on Tuesday, while Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf informed the Pakistani official that the United States will not be able to gain Tehran's trust unless it implements its proposal regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Iranian "Nour News" agency.

The agency quoted Iranian security official Ali Akbar Rezaei as saying, during a meeting with the Pakistani Army Chief, that all enriched nuclear materials in Iran will remain within the country.

Pakistan plays the role of the main mediator between the United States and Iran, and its previous efforts led to the signing of a temporary peace agreement in June, before the "Islamabad Memorandum" faltered with the renewal of fighting between the two parties weeks after its signing.
