Innovation Hubs.. Do They Create Opportunities for Talent?

Innovation and creativity centers in Jordan today face a real test that goes beyond the number of courses and workshops, as the most important question is: Have they succeeded in transforming talent and ideas into projects, products, and startups that create job opportunities and add economic value, or are they still captive to training and activities that end with the certificate?

This file opens the file of centers that have embraced innovators and accompanied them from the first idea to the market, and tracks the stories of young men and women who started from a small laboratory or a modest training hall, then moved on to establishing their own projects and developing their products, and some of them reached regional and international platforms. These are stories that confirm that talent is not tied to a place, and that early discovery and continuous accompaniment can make a difference.

However, the picture is not without challenges that are repeated by those who run the centers and those who benefit from them alike, at the forefront of which is sustainable funding that ensures the continuation of work after the end of short-term grants, modern equipment and laboratories that keep pace with the acceleration of technology, and qualified trainers who are able to transfer practical experience, not just theoretical. Added to this is the difficulty of marketing and delivering products to the consumer and investor, the weakness of the link between the idea and the market, and the limits of reaching young people outside the major cities where many talents have not been discovered.

Between ambition and potential, the file reviews the views of the innovators themselves, what they see as needs and gaps that hinder their transition from the experimentation phase to the production phase, and also highlights the models that are able to continue and expand, in an attempt to answer a fundamental question: How do we turn innovation centers from idea incubators into real platforms for creating the future?
