The Head of the Independent Election Commission Board, Engineer Musa Maaytah, said that the Jordanian state has been able, since the establishment of the Emirate of Transjordan in 1921, to maintain its stability and continuity despite the crises and transformations witnessed by the region, relying on the ability of the state and the political system to adapt to changes and restore balance between continuity and reform.
This came during a lecture he gave today, Tuesday, entitled “The Political Environment and the Political System” for the students in the National Defense Course 24 in the presence of the commander, president, and members of the directing body at the college.
Maaytah explained that the Hashemite monarchy has been one of the most important pillars of political stability in the Kingdom, alongside the professional role of the Jordanian Armed Forces in protecting the homeland, noting that Jordan has pursued a gradual and safe reform path throughout its history.
The head of the Independent Election Commission Board affirmed that the political modernization path in Jordan aims to consolidate collective party work and gradually reach parliamentary majority party governments, noting that the 2024 elections represented a first step in this path by enhancing the presence of parties within the House of Representatives.
At the end of the lecture, an extensive discussion took place during which the guest answered the students' questions and inquiries.
