France is preparing a Security Council resolution on the Strait of Hormuz

France is working on a new draft resolution at the UN Security Council aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz to navigation, according to a diplomatic source informed journalists.

The source said, "France wants to work with the Americans and its partners on a UN Security Council resolution that ensures freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz"

Last April, Russia and China used the veto against a draft resolution drafted by Bahrain with the support of the Gulf states and the United States, which also called for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
