«First Irbid Qasabah Education»: Full Capacity for «BTEC» Program with 1,520 Students

The Director of Education for First Irbid Qasabah, Dr. Raed Khassawneh, announced that the vocational and technical education program «BTEC» has achieved full occupancy this year in the Directorate's schools, with the total number of students enrolled in the program reaching 1,520 male and female students.

Dr. Khassawneh stressed that the Directorate was keen to provide all vocational and technical specializations within the program, pointing out that Irbid Qasabah includes schools that are considered leading and distinguished educational institutions at the level of the entire Kingdom, not just the governorate, most notably the Industrial School and Al-Zarnouji School.

In a related context, Khassawneh explained that the Directorate has taken organizational decisions to relocate numbers of Syrian students, capitalizing on the noticeable and significant decline in their numbers; as the numbers in some schools dropped to about 750 students in each of the two schools after exceeding 1,100 students in a single school.

Based on this decline in numbers, it was decided to transfer Syrian students from the Bahraini School to Al-Qadisiyah School due to their direct adjacency, while 97 Syrian female students were transferred from Bushra Basic School for Girls to Fatima Bint Al-Yaman School in the Bushra area, where the distance between the two schools does not exceed one kilometer («a very close distance»). The Director of Education emphasized that the transfer procedures came with the aim of providing appropriate and ideal educational atmospheres for all students in the concerned schools, stressing that the schools to which the students were transferred will not witness any overcrowding or the need for any classroom additions. He also pointed out that the Directorate is currently conducting survey studies for other schools to take similar decisions according to developments and the volume of numbers.
