"Aqaba Education" Confirms Student Numbers in All Schools Within Capacity

The Director of Education for the Aqaba region, Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Hajjaj, confirmed the inaccuracy of claims about overcrowding of students in one of the classrooms in Aqaba city, emphasizing that the actual number of students does not exceed the capacity of the classrooms.

Al-Hajjaj explained that the number of students in the classrooms of the school concerned with the overcrowding complaint, which was reported by a radio station, ranges between 38 and 40 students per class, denying the accuracy of what was circulated about the existence of overcrowding reaching 65 students in some classrooms in one of the boys' schools.

He stressed that the numbers present in the school are within the capacity and area of the classrooms, confirming the inaccuracy of what was raised about students being forced to buy plastic chairs or sit on mats inside the classrooms due to overcrowding.

Al-Hajjaj said that what was said by the caller on this matter is completely incorrect, considering that publishing inaccurate information without verification harms the reputation of the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development and its schools, calling for accuracy and responsibility when addressing educational issues.

To clarify the actual situation, the Aqaba Education Directorate publishes photos from inside the classrooms of the concerned school, showing the conditions of the classrooms, and confirms that the number of students is within the approved capacity.

Al-Hajjaj called on parents and anyone with a note related to overcrowding or school conditions to communicate directly with the Directorate and provide it with any specific case to verify and follow up.

He confirmed that the Directorate follows up on the notes and complaints related to schools, and that referring to the competent official authorities ensures the accuracy of information and maintains confidence in the educational environment.
