Dr. Dhaif Allah Abu Aqula as President of Clearing Companies

Elected for the Fourth Consecutive Term

Dr. Dhaif Allah Abu Aqula as President of Clearing Companies

Dr. Dhaif Allah Abu Aqula was elected as the President of the Clearing Companies and Cargo Transport Association by acclamation for the fourth consecutive term for a period of four years, after the closing of the nomination period and no candidate from the clearing companies and cargo transport companies submitted a nomination.

Abu Aqula's victory by acclamation is a confirmation of the General Assembly's confidence in his professional career and long experience in the sector, and appreciation for his efforts in developing the clearing profession during previous terms, defending the interests of operating companies, and enhancing the level of logistics services in the Kingdom.

Abu Aqula is one of the most prominent figures in the union and economic sectors in the transport and clearing sector, as he led the union during years that witnessed regional and global challenges, and was able to participate in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through customs centers and the Port of Aqaba, removing all challenges and obstacles that faced the work of clearing companies and cargo transport, and enhancing partnership with the Jordanian Customs Department and all relevant authorities related to the work of the union, clearing companies, and cargo transport.

It is worth noting that Dr. Dhaif Allah Abu Aqula holds a PhD in Diplomacy and International Relations from the 'International College for Economics and Political Sciences' in London, and has over 32 years of experience in managing domestic and foreign trade files and supply chains, which has positively reflected on the performance and status of the union at the local and regional levels.

The new union term is expected to focus on completing digital transformation plans, automating data and linking it with the General Authority, defending the interests of companies, raising the level of the profession and its employees, establishing a customs clearance academy, and supporting the Kingdom's efforts to make it a regional hub for transport and logistics.

It should be noted that the Clearing Companies and Cargo Transport Association was established in 1982, includes 467 licensed companies in all governorates of Jordan, and has about 2,000 branches distributed across all customs and border centers, providing nearly 10,000 job opportunities for Jordanians.
