The Roman Amphitheatre in Amman hosts the «DF UNCAGED» mixed martial arts fight night today, Friday, as the conclusion of «Jordan MMA Week». The evening features 14 bouts divided into two cards, preliminary and main.
Doors open to the public at 3:00 PM, the program begins at 4:30 PM, and the first bout starts at 5:00 PM.
The accompanying program includes performances by the Jordanian Armed Forces band, and shows by the Ma'an Folk Arts troupe, including Dabke, Sahra, and a Circassian dance.
The area surrounding the amphitheatre will feature performers in Roman and Nabataean army costumes, alongside entertainment activities and food for the audience.
The start of the main card will be preceded by the playing of the Royal Anthem and a minute of silence for the souls of the victims of the Karak attack.
The preliminary card includes nine bouts, three of which feature Jordanian fighters. Zaki Kayali faces Algerian Mohamed Namla in his first professional bout in front of his home crowd, Yazan Balawi meets Moroccan Issam Azelhad, and Freih Harahsheh faces Algerian Djillali Cherati.
The preliminary card concludes with the bout of Lebanese fighter Mohammad Fakhreddine, former «Desert Force» welterweight champion in 2016, against Welshman John Martin Fraser.
The main card kicks off at 9:00 PM with the bout between Jordanian Abdullah Jawish and Algerian Islam Chelouti, in Jawish's first professional fight, having represented Jordan in Jiu-Jitsu at the 2022 Asian Games. This is followed by the bout between Russian Kurban Ali Isabekov and Romanian Catalin Savta, then the bout between Saudi Fares Al-Rimi and Egyptian Bassel Abdel Hamid.
American Andrew Sanchez, winner of the 23rd season of «The Ultimate Fighter», meets Russian Mikhail Ragozin. The evening concludes with the main event between Russian Magomed Barkhamov and American Dante Schiro.
The fight night will be attended by a number of the week's guests, including former world boxing champion Mike Tyson, Brazilian football star Ronaldinho, Turkish actor Engin Altan Düzyatan, and social media star Hasbulla Magomedov.
Jordan TV will broadcast the entire evening, while «MBC Action» will air the main card live and for free starting at 9:00 PM.
The week is organized by «Makana 360» and «Jordan Combat Consulting», in cooperation with the Jordan Mixed Martial Arts Federation, and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board.
