Crown Prince HRH Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II patronized on Wednesday the closing ceremony of the 2nd World International Camel Endurance Championship, hosted by the Kingdom for the first time, and the 6th Jordan Camel Racing and Nabati Poetry Festival.

HRH the Crown Prince watched the final rounds of the international camel championship at the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Camel Racing Track in the Disi area, and witnessed a presentation by the Camel Unit of the Public Security Directorate.

In the presence of Prince Fahd bin Jalawi, President of the Saudi, Arab, and International Camel Federations, HRH presented awards to the top winners of the championship. The Jordanian camel racing team won the first-place cup in the men's category, the Saudi team won the first-place cup in the women's category, and the Saudi team won the championship cup after accumulating the highest points.

HRH the Crown Prince also presented awards to the first-place winners of the Jordan Camel Racing Festival, the Nabati Poetry competition, and the winner of the most beautiful camel competition.

Head of the Jordanian Camel Sports Committee, Ali Al-Masamra, emphasized in a speech that the continuous support and interest of HRH the Crown Prince in camel racing sports has contributed to its development, transitioning from an activity tied to heritage and tradition to an organized sport with presence and stature, attracting participants from Jordan, the region, and the world.

Al-Masamra noted the rising level of competition in camel races, improved interest in breeds and camel quality, and broader youth participation, highlighting the importance of the Kingdom hosting Arab and international championships in this field.

The championship saw the participation of 37 male and female camel jockeys from 11 countries: Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Yemen, Denmark, Poland, Chad, and Mali.

The closing ceremony was attended by a number of senior civilian and military officials.
