The Irbid Governorate Culture Directorate has completed all arrangements and work related to the "Irbid Narrative" project at the Irbid Cultural Center. The project is now fully ready, awaiting the setting of an official opening date to present it to the public and visitors.
The Director of the Irbid Governorate Culture Directorate, Dr. Sultan Al-Zghoul, confirmed that the directorate has finalized all organizational and logistical procedures to showcase the project, based on statements by His Excellency the Minister of Culture, Mr. Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, in which he announced the complete finalization of all procedures for the narrative project. His Excellency emphasized the importance of documenting the story of place, time, and human beings as an integral part of the national narrative and Jordanian cultural identity.
Al-Zghoul explained that the "Irbid Narrative" project allows any visitor to the Irbid Cultural Center to learn about the governorate's comprehensive civilizational and historical heritage through a bilingual (Arabic and English) visual and cognitive experience that takes only 10 minutes upon entering the center. Additionally, QR codes have been allocated via social media to enable visitors to access all details and additional information, backed by a rich archive of historical, cultural, and civilizational images.
He added that the narrative documents the civilizational and historical succession of the governorate as one of the most prominent historical "Decapolis" cities, highlighting its historical milestones starting from the Roman and Byzantine eras, passing through various periods up to the current era, given the vast cultural and heritage reservoir Irbid possesses, considered one of the largest and richest in the Kingdom.
Al-Zghoul pointed out that the directorate has taken all technical and logistical facilities to present the narrative in a smooth and innovative manner, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the Irbid Governorate Council (Decentralization) for providing additional support worth 15,000 dinars, added to the financial allocations set aside by the Ministry of Culture for the project. This financial support was allocated to develop and rehabilitate the infrastructure of the "Irbid Narrative" project and facilitate the mechanisms for displaying and highlighting it in the best possible way for the center's visitors.
