CENTCOM: 100 Commercial Ships Rerouted in Two Months Due to Iran Blockade

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that 100 commercial ships have been rerouted over the past two months since the United States resumed its naval blockade on Iran.

In a statement posted on its account on the American platform "X", the command confirmed that the blockade imposed by the U.S. Navy on the Strait of Hormuz continues uninterrupted.

CENTCOM stated: "In the 60 days since the United States reimposed the 'Steel Wall' blockade on Iran, CENTCOM forces have rerouted 100 commercial vessels. No ship has been able to pass through the blockade without authorization from U.S. forces."

The U.S. naval blockade on Iran first began on April 13, before being suspended on June 18 under an agreement between the two countries.

Following the collapse of the agreement, the U.S. military announced on July 14 the reinstatement of the blockade.
