Bezshekian: We do not seek to develop nuclear weapons and are ready to allow IAEA inspectors to enter

Iranian President Masoud Bezshekian said in an interview with CBS News that his country is not seeking to develop nuclear weapons, affirming its readiness to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency to enter Iran.

Bezshekian added that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is in good health, noting that the injuries to his face and legs have healed.

Regarding relations with the United States, Bezshekian said that a direct meeting with US President Donald Trump is difficult under the current atmosphere of mistrust between the two countries.

The Iranian president emphasized that his country will not turn to developing nuclear weapons even if some within Iran want to, pointing out that religious teachings do not allow for such a direction.
