Bayern Munich assistant coach Aaron Danks praised English striker Harry Kane on Tuesday after he won the Ballon d'Or for the world's best player, saying the striker will be busy thinking about scoring his "next goal."
Kane (33) was awarded the prestigious prize for the first time in his hometown of London the night before last.
Danks, who is managing the team while Belgian coach Vincent Kompany recovers in the hospital from a virus, said that the England captain receiving football's highest individual honor will not change his mindset.
He added during a press conference on Tuesday: "I am very happy for him and proud of what he has achieved. I know Harry very well, and all his focus now will be on his next goal, his future performance, and his upcoming matches."
He continued: "He will go straight back to that professional and humble mentality that brought him to this level."
Kane had won numerous scoring awards and finished as runner-up in the Premier League and Champions League with Tottenham, but he did not secure his first team title until his move to Bayern Munich in 2023.
Since arriving in Munich, Kane has won the Bundesliga title twice and the German Cup, and has reached the Champions League semi-finals in two out of three seasons with the Bavarian club.
Danks said the former Tottenham striker is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
He added: "I remember years ago when he was in England, and everyone was talking about him not winning titles, but if you look at his career and what he was achieving, you would find that he had a wonderful career."
He continued: "He led the England national team to European finals and led Tottenham to the Champions League final."
He added: "Perhaps he was not getting the recognition he deserved in terms of titles, but these things are starting to come to him now."
Danks also revealed that he visited Kompany in the hospital, explaining that the coach, who was taken to the hospital on Friday after collapsing on the training ground, is improving.
He said: "His spirits are good. He seems to be improving day by day. There are no major updates regarding the diagnosis or the date of return to work, and things are very quiet. Let him rest and recover."
