The Chairman of the Barqash Municipality Committee, Engineer Muawiyah Al-Khazaaleh, revealed that the municipality has started preparing to launch the "Pomegranate and Rural and Local Products Festival", organized by the Women Empowerment Unit and supported by the Community-Based Natural Resources Management Project, to be a major platform for supporting the agricultural sector and productive families in the region.
Al-Khazaaleh confirmed that the Barqash area is distinguished by its unique agricultural and tourist nature, and its fame for growing pomegranates and many products and crops, in addition to being a prominent tourist destination that visitors from different parts of the Kingdom come to enjoy its landmarks, foremost of which are Wadi Al-Rayan, Wadi Zqlab, and Barqash Forest Reserve.
He announced that the festival will provide a completely free marketing space for farmers, women of the local community, and business owners, without collecting any fees or participation charges, to enable them to display pomegranates, their derivatives, rural products, homemade foods, and handicrafts in front of visitors to the region.
In the context of continuing to support the agricultural sector, Al-Khazaaleh explained that the municipality will hold a specialized advisory seminar for olive farmers next Thursday in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, to provide technical advice and guidelines to care for trees and enhance the quality of production in conjunction with the approaching harvest season.
Al-Khazaaleh invited farmers and the people of the region to attend the consultative meeting held by the Women Empowerment Unit on Saturday, corresponding to (3/10/2026) at 10:00 AM in the Hall of His Highness Prince Hussein in the Beit Eeds area, to listen to their opinions and suggestions and discuss the arrangements necessary to ensure the success of the festival and highlight the tourist and productive assets of Barqash Municipality.
