Balqa Culture discusses the transformations of Jordanian culture in the era of artificial intelligence

A dialogue meeting organized by the Balqa Governorate Culture Directorate, in cooperation with the Salt Gate Forum for Dialogue, Culture, and Arts, discussed the trajectory of Jordanian national culture since the founding of the state, its transformations throughout historical stages, and the challenges and opportunities imposed by digital and technological developments on the future of cultural production and artistic creativity.

During the meeting, Dr. Daifallah Al-Wureikat and Dr. Adnan Al-Saudi spoke, reviewing the foundations upon which Jordanian culture was built, its distinctive national depth, its Arab and Islamic extension, and its civilizational, historical, heritage, architectural, and artistic legacy, in addition to the development of Jordanian arts in their various forms and their role in expressing national identity and documenting societal transformations.

The lecturers addressed the experiences of theater, acting, singing, and drama in Jordan as creative forms that contributed to monitoring social and cultural transformations and expressing the issues and memory of society, emphasizing the importance of continuing to develop these arts and enhancing their ability to keep pace with contemporary changes.

The meeting also shed light on the repercussions of digital transformation, information technology, and artificial intelligence on cultural work, the importance of employing modern tools in developing creative production, opening new spaces for creators, and expanding the reach of Jordanian culture locally, regionally, and internationally, while preserving its specificity and national identity.

The participants discussed the contents of the seven royal discussion papers presented by His Majesty King Abdullah II, emphasizing the importance of re-reading them, deepening awareness of their ideas, and translating their contents into practical programs and initiatives that support the paths of political, economic, social, and administrative reform, and enhance active participation and national responsibility.

The participants emphasized the necessity of expanding cooperation between government institutions, cultural bodies, parties, and relevant authorities, and coordinating efforts aimed at developing the Jordanian cultural scene, in a way that enhances the presence of culture as a lever for awareness and comprehensive development, and contributes to building a vision that responds to the requirements of the coming phase.
