Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that the rapprochement between Russia and Iran has reached its highest historical level, following his reception of his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on his first visit since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East at the end of February.
Araghchi wrote on the X platform, "Never in our history have Iran and Russia worked with such closeness as they are witnessing today."
Araghchi held the United States responsible for the tension and insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz, considering that what he described as "American-Israeli aggression against Iran," along with the economic blockade imposed on his country, are the main reasons for the lack of security in the region.
For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed Moscow's commitment to the strategic cooperation document with Tehran,
