Amman Ahliya University is the first in Jordan in Artificial Intelligence and Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the 2026 Shanghai Academic Subjects Ranking

Amman Ahliya University achieved a remarkable international achievement in the 2026 version of the Shanghai Academic Subjects Ranking, being classified in the (301-400) category globally in the subjects of Artificial Intelligence and Electrical and Electronic Engineering, topping Jordanian universities in them, and also ranked among the top private Jordanian universities in terms of the number of classified subjects.
This progress is of particular importance, as these two fields are among the most competitive internationally and are at the heart of the transformations the world is witnessing today. These results confirm the quality of scientific research at the university, the excellence of its faculty members, and the breadth of its scientific partnerships.
Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said: "This achievement is the result of the university's vision to invest in scientific research and build capabilities in future fields, and it is part of an integrated plan implemented by the university to enhance its position in global rankings. The Board of Directors will continue to support this journey to achieve a higher international status"
For his part, Acting President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hamdan, said: "This result reflects the university's commitment to qualitative scientific research in advanced engineering and technical specializations. At the same time, it is a message of confidence to our students that they belong to a competitive university that prepares them to be at the forefront of excellence. We are currently working to expand our presence to include other subjects in future editions of the ranking, as we have the capabilities that qualify us to do so"
It should be noted that Amman Ahliya University achieved the 643rd global ranking in the QS World University Ranking 2027, and also ranked first among Jordanian universities in the Times Ranking and 401-500 globally.
