Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed, on Tuesday, bilateral relations and ways to develop them, and updates on the situation in the region, during a meeting in the capital Riyadh.

The Syrian News Agency "SANA" reported that the meeting took place in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani, as part of an official visit of unspecified duration by Al-Sharaa to Saudi Arabia.

It added that the two sides discussed relations between the two countries and ways to develop them to serve mutual interests.

They also exchanged views on updates on the situation in the region and a number of issues of mutual interest, which contributes to supporting security and stability in it, according to the agency.

Al-Sharaa arrived in Riyadh on Tuesday, accompanied by Al-Shibani, and was received by the Emir of Riyadh Region, Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, according to "SANA".

The visit comes amid ongoing contacts between the leaderships of the two countries, which included files of bilateral relations, economic and investment cooperation, and regional developments.
