Al-Nuaim: Intensive inspection campaigns to protect palm farms in the Northern Jordan Valley

Director of Agriculture for the Northern Jordan Valley District, Engineer Mohammad Al-Nuaim, stated that the directorate, in cooperation with relevant authorities and palm farmers in the region, continues to implement field campaigns and inspection tours of palm farms, with the aim of monitoring the health status of the trees and limiting the spread of the red palm weevil.

Al-Nuaim pointed out that these tours come within the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to protect the palm sector and enhance field monitoring and follow-up, through early detection of infestations, monitoring infected trees, and guiding farmers on the necessary agricultural and technical procedures to deal with the infestation and limit its spread.

He emphasized the importance of partnership with palm farmers and the necessity of early reporting of any symptoms or suspected cases, which contributes to dealing with them quickly and maintaining the safety of palm farms and the sustainability of their production.

Specialized teams in the Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate continue their field tours continuously, as part of an action plan aimed at protecting plant wealth and enhancing the health and safety of the palm sector in the Northern Jordan Valley region.
