The Jordanian Post is reviving a number of the most prominent features of the Kingdom's religious, historical, and archaeological memory through a new issue of commemorative cards, featuring images of Al-Maghtas, Qasr Amra, and Petra in an edition that highlights the diversity of Jordan's cultural heritage.
The Jordanian Post said in a statement issued today, Saturday, that the issue brings together three sites of religious, historical, and cultural value: Al-Maghtas, with its spiritual and historical significance on the Jordan River, Qasr Amra, with its architectural and artistic value reflecting an aspect of the Umayyad civilization, and Petra, the Rose City, as one of the most prominent testimonies to the Nabataean civilization and a symbol of Jordan's cultural and tourist heritage.
It explained that the issue comes within the framework of documenting the national memory and highlighting the diversity that characterizes the religious, archaeological, and historical sites in the Kingdom, in addition to introducing the Jordanian heritage and visually conveying it to recipients inside and outside Jordan.
The cards will be available starting tomorrow, Sunday, at a price of one dinar and forty qirsh per card, at the Stamp Department in the Jordanian Post building in the Muqablin area, next to the Radio and Television building.
