Al-Fakhri: Aqaba Women Turn Challenges into Successful Projects and Opportunities

Women in Aqaba Governorate present distinguished models in community work and local production, through initiatives and projects that reflect the presence of women and their ability to participate, and turn ideas and skills into works and projects that serve the community and support the local economy. Women's experiences in Aqaba vary between productive projects, community initiatives, and programs concerned with protection and empowerment, alongside activities that open the field for women to participate and dialogue, reflecting an active presence of women in the paths of development, community work, and the economy in the governorate.

In an interview with (Al-Rai), Nasim Al-Fakhri, the rapporteur of the Women's Committee in the Council of Notables, expressed her pride in the experiences presented by Aqaba women, and what they reflect in terms of the ability to initiate, work, and produce, confirming that these projects represent models of the Jordanian woman capable of turning challenges into opportunities, and investing the available potentials in building projects and initiatives with an impact. She said that what she noticed during her visit to women's experiences in the fields of empowerment, community work, and local production confirms the importance of supporting these initiatives and listening to the needs of those who run them, and preparing the environment that helps them develop and sustain their projects, praising the energies, ideas, and experiences that Aqaba women possess, which deserve support and expansion.

In this context, Al-Fakhri visited Aqaba during her visit to a number of women's and community initiatives and projects, met with the women who run them, listened to their experiences in the fields of empowerment, community work, and local production, and the main challenges they face and the needs of their projects and opportunities for their development and expansion of their impact.

The visit included the Al-Samu Charitable Association for Care and Leadership, where she reviewed the 'Tamkeeni' project, which provides integrated services for the protection and empowerment of women and girls, including legal, psychological, social, and economic aspects, alongside awareness and capacity-building programs, providing women beneficiaries with a comprehensive support system to help them face challenges and enhance their ability to be self-reliant.

She also participated in a dialogue event organized by the Jordanian National Women's Committees in Aqaba, which addressed a number of political, legislative, and community issues, focusing on the importance of enhancing women's awareness and expanding their participation in public life, and opening spaces for dialogue and exchanging ideas on issues that affect women and their role in society.

On the economic side, she visited the Paper Solutions Factory affiliated with the Sidaat Beit Al-Ward Cooperative Society, and reviewed a women's experience in the field of local production and providing environmentally friendly alternatives, and listened to an explanation about the nature of the products, work mechanisms, and project development opportunities, and the opportunities it provides for women to participate in economic activity and turn skills and ideas into productive products and projects.
