The Joint Services Council of Balqa Governorate, in cooperation with the Balqa Governorate Youth Directorate, organized a solidarity stand this Sunday afternoon in front of the council building to denounce the crime witnessed in the village of Hamoud in Karak Governorate, and to affirm the rejection of terrorism, violence, crime, and attacks on places of worship, and the Jordanians' adherence to their national unity and social cohesion.
The head of the Joint Services Council of Balqa Governorate, Musa Al-Abdallat, confirmed during a statement to Al-Rai that the stand was a sincere expression of the unified national position and the solidarity of the people of Balqa with their families in Karak Governorate, stressing that Jordanians are one family and that what affects the people of any governorate in the Kingdom affects all Jordanians.
Al-Abdallat said that national unity is not just slogans but a deep-rooted practice that manifests itself in difficult situations and in standing by each other, away from any religious or social differences, confirming that Muslims and Christians are partners in the homeland and destiny, united by citizenship, brotherhood, and loyalty to Jordan and its Hashemite leadership.
He added that Jordan's true strength lies in the cohesion of its internal front, the awareness of its people, and their belief that the security and stability of the homeland is a shared responsibility, pointing out that such national positions embody the authenticity of Jordanian society and its keenness to preserve the social fabric and promote the values of fraternity and coexistence.
Regarding the importance of societal awareness in confronting hate speech, Al-Abdallat stressed that awareness constitutes the first line of defense in confronting rumors and attempts to sow discord among members of the same society, especially in times of crises and painful events.
He emphasized that the responsibility lies with institutions, individuals, and the media to deal with events with wisdom and responsibility, to obtain information from its reliable sources, and not to allow irresponsible posts or comments to affect the relations of brotherhood and cohesion among Jordanians.
He pointed out that confronting hate speech requires spreading a culture of tolerance and mutual respect and promoting the values of citizenship, justice, and the rule of law, noting that responsible speech contributes to building society, while inciting words may lead to dangerous effects that threaten its cohesion and stability.
Regarding the echoes of the crime in Balqa Governorate, Al-Abdallat explained that the people of the governorate, like other Jordanians in various regions of the Kingdom, received the news of the crime with deep pain and sadness due to its violation of the sanctity of human life and the feelings of families and the entire society.
He added that the affliction was present in the conscience of Jordanians and that the pain transcended geographical boundaries to become a shared national pain, confirming that the solidarity stand was an expression of feelings of sadness and sympathy and an affirmation of standing by the victims' families and their people in Karak.
He pointed out that these events remind everyone of the value of life and the sanctity of blood, the importance of solidarity in confronting crime, adhering to national unity, and allowing the competent authorities to perform their duty and achieve justice, confirming that solidarity with the victims' families is a humanitarian and national duty that reflects the authenticity and cohesion of Jordanians.
Al-Abdallat concluded his speech by saying: "In Jordan, the pain of Karak is the pain of Balqa, and the pain of every Jordanian; for national unity is not just a position we declare in times of crisis, but a covenant we all carry to protect our homeland and preserve the dignity of its people."
During the stand, the participants renewed their condemnation of terrorism and violence in all their forms, confirming their adherence to the values of love, peace, and tolerance, their rejection of everything that would harm the security of the homeland and its national unity, and stressing that the cohesion of Jordanians will remain the strongest support in facing challenges and preserving the stability of the Kingdom.
