Ahmad Da'eis Reviews His Experience in ((Jordanian Narrative and Television Drama))

The Jordanian Writers Association, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the Royal Cultural Center, held a cultural event entitled «Jordanian Narrative and Television Drama» addressed the experience of the Jordanian director Ahmad Da'eis and his career in television directing, especially his presence in Jordanian Bedouin drama.

Director Da'eis interviewed Dr. Ali Al-Shawabke, discussing his artistic career and professional development, his approach to dealing with the script, the actor, and the image, as well as his experience in employing the Jordanian Bedouin environment with its dialect, customs, traditions, clothing, accessories, and visual details in building characters and the dramatic scene.

Da'eis emphasized the importance of taking care of local content and benefiting from elements of culture and national memory in developing Jordanian television drama, and presenting the Jordanian narrative in an artistic form capable of reaching the local and Arab audience, indicating that preserving identity does not mean isolation, but rather requires deep knowledge of the local environment and culture and converting it into an artistic discourse capable of communication.

The dialogue also addressed the concept of «successful intelligence» by Robert Sternberg, as a framework for reading the artist's experience and development through learning, practice, and employing knowledge and skills in developing their creative tools.

The event also discussed the importance of documenting the experiences of Jordanian artists who contributed to the production of television drama, and opening a critical dialogue about the experiences that contributed to shaping the presence of the Jordanian image on the screen, and what can be built upon to develop a more capable dramatic industry of expressing Jordanian society and its diversity.

The program included a film documenting aspects of Da'eis' life, artistic career, and creations, prepared and directed by Dr. Falah Al-Amoush, and recalling stations from his experience in television work.

The event concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing the dialogue about the Jordanian narrative and television drama, and documenting Jordanian artistic experiences, which contributes to developing drama and enhancing the presence of the Jordanian identity in the local and Arab dramatic scene.
