He added that settler terrorism is escalating under the protection of the occupation forces, in conjunction with land theft, house demolitions, checkpoints, and incursions, amid what he described as a system of laws, procedures, and practices based on racial discrimination, ethnic cleansing, and state terrorism.
He warned against allowing new catastrophes and massacres like those that occurred in 1948, calling for an end to attacks on Palestinians and holding some countries accountable for their continued silence towards Israel or providing it with weapons it uses against the Palestinian people.
Abbas questioned when the international community would move to protect the Palestinian people and ensure their stay on their land, end the Israeli occupation, and implement the two-state solution based on international legitimacy, warning of an Israeli expansionist project that he said aims to cancel the Palestinian presence.
Regarding the Gaza Strip, Abbas said the Palestinian side welcomed the 20-point plan of US President Donald Trump, UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and the roadmap for implementing the final phase, with the aim of stopping the aggression, ending the humanitarian tragedy, withdrawing Israeli forces from the Strip, and rebuilding it.
He added that nothing has been achieved on the ground, pointing to the ongoing Israeli killing and aggression, which are claiming the lives of men, women, and children in Gaza.
Abbas called for speeding up the implementation of the second phase of the plan and not wasting any more time, warning against the transition phase turning into a permanent or open situation without a clear timeline and political horizon.
He stressed the need for the transition phase to lead to the reunification of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, under the jurisdiction of the State of Palestine and its legitimate institutions, in accordance with the principle of "one state, one government, one law, and one legitimate weapon."
Warning Against Attacks on Holy Sites
The Palestinian President warned against the continued attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, considering them to be violations of the historical and legal status and freedom of worship.
He called for an immediate end to these attacks, warning that their continuation could lead to a widespread religious conflict in the region and beyond.
He also warned against ongoing Israeli attacks on UN premises and institutions in Jerusalem and the West Bank, noting that they undermine the ability of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to continue providing support.
Abbas addressed the kings, presidents, and leaders of the world through a recorded speech.
On the 17th of this month, 152 countries voted in favor of a resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly, rejecting the US decision to prevent the Palestinian delegation from participating in the work of the General Assembly at its 81st session, and calling on it to reverse it, considering it a violation of the Headquarters Agreement.
