The Director of the Northern Mazar Brigade Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Ahad Abaid, confirmed that the "First Northern Mazar Brigade Summer Festival 2026: Grapes, Figs, and Rural Products" laid the foundation for institutionalizing this developmental and tourist event to become a permanent annual festival on the national and agricultural festivals map of the Kingdom, explaining that it achieved direct economic empowerment for farmers and producing families by providing direct sales outlets that eliminated intermediary links and increased their profit margins amid a noticeable turnout and widespread satisfaction from visitors.
Abaid emphasized that one of the most important outcomes of the festival was the establishment of a comprehensive and updated database for farmers, producing families, and associations in the brigade, noting that this database will form a fundamental pillar for facilitating continuous communication with them and involving them effectively in all upcoming developmental events, programs, and projects.
He explained that the festival provided a vital platform for exchanging experiences between farmers, participants, and learning about packaging experiences and investment opportunities available in the brigade, in addition to highlighting the Northern Mazar as a distinctive tourist, environmental, and agricultural destination, rich with extensive forest areas of oak trees estimated at about 15,000 dunums, and offering luxurious agricultural and artisanal products.
Abaid pointed to the active community role of youth, women, and women's associations in organizing and succeeding the event, revealing an executive work plan for upcoming editions that includes expanding the base of participants to empower small farmers, and developing food processing through specialized workshops in modern packaging and processing methods (such as grape molasses, dried figs, and vinegar).
He added that the directorate seeks to strengthen strategic partnerships with the New Mazar Municipality, the Women's Committees, Social Development, the National Aid Fund, Giza Park, and civil society institutions to form a "permanent higher committee" to organize festivals, in addition to planning to launch a permanent digital marketing platform and issuing a "Mazar Producers Guide" to introduce producers and their success stories.
