1.22% Increase in Industrial Production in July Last Year

The industry in Jordan confirmed that the data of the index of industrial production quantities over the past seven months of the current year reflects a state of stability in industrial activity.

The acting Director General of the Chamber, Asaaq Arabiyat, said that the data showed more positive indicators during July last year, as industrial production increased by 1.22% compared to the same month last year and by 4.61% compared to June last year, indicating an improvement in the pace of production activity during the recent period.

He added that these indicators gain greater importance given the performance of the manufacturing industries, which account for about 88.7% of the relative weight of the industrial production index, as their production quantities increased by 2.01% during July on an annual basis, by 4.29% compared to June, reflecting a tangible improvement in the production activity of the main industrial sector.

He confirmed that the Chamber looks optimistically at the performance of the industrial sector during the coming months of the current year, especially in light of the improvement that appeared in the production indicators during July, in parallel with the positive performance of industrial exports during 2026, which reflects the continued demand for Jordanian products and the ability of the national industry to reach foreign markets and adapt to regional and international changes.

Arabiyat said: "We hope that the continued growth of exports and the improvement of economic activity during the coming months will be more reflected in industrial production levels and that we will witness a clearer improvement in industrial indicators by the end of the year, especially with the continued implementation of the programs and initiatives of the economic modernization vision and the measures aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the industry, stimulating investment and production".
