107 Thousand Standard Containers.. Aqaba Records a New Record Last Month

Aqaba Container Port Company recorded a "new record" for the third consecutive month, handling 107,803 20-foot standard containers last September, through the reception and service of 53 ships.

September is the third consecutive month in which the company has exceeded the 100,000 standard container threshold, following the record handling volumes recorded in July and August, reflecting the continued momentum of its operational performance.

The company continued its activity in handling transit goods during September; it managed to handle 14,712 standard containers, highlighting once again its pivotal role in facilitating the movement of goods between Jordan and regional markets.

The company maintained strong levels during September regarding truck traffic through the container port gates, recording 45,901 movements. The continued high level of activity in land and sea port operations reflects the company's ability to manage high handling volumes continuously, while maintaining the efficiency and reliability of services to its customers and partners in the supply chain.

José Rueda, CEO of Aqaba Container Port Company, said: "Recording record handling volumes over three consecutive months reflects the strength and flexibility of Aqaba's role in regional trade, as well as the ability of Aqaba Container Port Company to support this role and meet its requirements on a large scale."

He added: "As the logistics landscape continues to evolve, we focus on establishing the company as a reliable regional gateway, by continuing to deliver outstanding operational performance, while maintaining high levels of connectivity, reliability, and service quality to meet the needs of our customers and partners and keep pace with their aspirations. This performance provides us with a solid foundation to build on, as we continue to contribute to the development of the Jordanian logistics sector and enhance its competitiveness."
