Zamalek denies nominating Moroccan Benhachem to succeed its coach

Hussein El-Sayed, board member of Egyptian club Zamalek and general supervisor of the football team, denied reports published by the Moroccan newspaper "Al-Mountakhab" regarding the nomination of Mohamed Amine Benhachem, head coach of Egyptian side Modern Sport, to take charge of the team in the coming period.

In statements published by Zamalek's media center yesterday, El-Sayed said that the club has not contacted the Moroccan coach, nor has his name been put forward to take charge of the team.

He affirmed that Moatamed Gamal continues in his post as normal, enjoying the full support of the board of directors, which has confidence in the current technical staff.

The football team's general supervisor expressed his surprise at the circulation of such reports just hours before facing Petrol Asyut in the Egyptian League.

He urged the media to consult club officials to verify information before publishing or circulating it.
