"Your Financial Compass" Holds Meeting in Karak to Enhance Community Awareness of Economic Knowledge

The national program for economic awareness and education, "Your Financial Compass," held a meeting in Karak Governorate, hosted by the 'All of Us are Jordan' Youth Authority, making Karak its first stop in the southern governorates and the fourth after Ajloun, Salt, and Mafraq, as part of a series of meetings the program holds and targets all governorates of the Kingdom, based on direct dialogue with local communities to provide financial knowledge linked to their daily needs and decisions.

The program, implemented by the Constitution Center for Economic Studies in partnership with national media outlets, and supported by CFI Jordan, aims to enhance financial awareness and disseminate economic knowledge, helping community members develop their financial concepts and make more informed investment decisions.

Ouni Al-Dawoud, President of the Constitution Center for Economic Studies and Executive Director of the program, confirmed that the arrival of "Your Financial Compass" to the southern region through the Karak station reflects the program's extension to various regions of the Kingdom, contributing to broadening and strengthening financial culture among different segments of society in the Kingdom's regions.

Al-Dawoud pointed out that the program embodies a model of cooperation between the media, the private sector, civil society institutions, and youth and educational institutions, and presents its content in a simplified economic language that helps individuals distinguish reliable information and raises their awareness of fraud and misleading promises of unrealistic profits.

Economic expert Fayeq Hijazi said that building financial culture begins with understanding the basics of money management and saving, and deepens through continuous learning and benefiting from real-life experiences and expertise in this field, supporting individuals' ability to plan and make informed investment decisions.

Hijazi added that dealing with financial decisions requires communication with experts and specialists, verifying the credibility of entities, and carefully studying investment opportunities, emphasizing the importance of developing knowledge before making any decision.

Ahmed Al-Majali from the 'All of Us are Jordan' Youth Authority in Karak praised the program's objectives and the topics it addresses, which he said align with the authority's role in empowering youth and expanding their knowledge of economic and developmental issues, noting that the audience's interaction and questions reflected a clear interest in developing their financial knowledge and benefiting from specialized expertise.

The meeting, held at the authority's headquarters, was attended by a group of youth, women, and representatives of the local community, as well as journalists. Discussions and interventions focused on enhancing participants' ability to handle their daily financial decisions by addressing the basics of money management, financial planning, saving, and investment principles, and understanding the risks associated with offers promoting quick returns.
