The Yemeni Army announced, on Thursday, the execution of 27 airstrikes against Houthi group sites and gatherings in Taiz province, in southwestern the country, saying they targeted missile depots, command and control centers, supply and armament points, and military vehicles.
The official spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Colonel Major General Majed Abdullah Al-Nazal, said in a statement: "Our air force's falcons executed 27 precise and concentrated airstrikes along the Taiz fronts, targeting an integrated military system of the terrorist Houthi militia"
Al-Nazal explained that the targeted system "included a missile depot, command and control centers, advanced supply and armament points, gatherings of militia elements, and military vehicles and equipment"
He explained that the airstrikes targeted "enemy targets on Al-Sitteen Street north of Taiz city, Bani Omar, the Hamir front in Maqbna district, east of Al-Wazi'a, Al-Hukum and Al-Athwar in Hayfan district, Al-Kadha and Jabal Nu'man, Al-Kuraifat, Uqbat Muneef, Al-Tashreef, Al-Aqrud, Sam'a, and Al-Shaqab in Sabr Al-Matammim"
Al-Nazal added that the airstrikes achieved "precise and direct hits on their targets, resulting in the destruction of dozens of military vehicles and capabilities and neutralizing a large number of militia elements, both dead and wounded"
No immediate comment from the Houthi group on what was stated in the Yemeni Army's statement.
This comes as Yemen witnessed the widest military escalation in the past few hours between government forces and the Houthi group.
These developments are part of a military escalation that began in July 2026, the widest since the relative calm that followed the April 2022 truce.
The pace of fighting accelerated last September, leading to the Houthis' control of a number of vital centers in Hodeidah and Taiz governorates, including the strategic city of Al-Mukhah, reaching Mayun Island overlooking the international maritime strait of Bab al-Mandab.
Yemen has been witnessing a war since the Houthis took control of the capital Sanaa and several governorates in September 2014, before the intervention of a Saudi-led Arab coalition in March 2015 in support of the Yemeni government.
