Yemen.. Giants Brigades announce killing of 23 Houthis and liberation of sites in Al-Bayda

Yemen's government-backed "Giants Brigades" forces announced on Monday the liberation of "strategic sites" during a military operation in Al-Bayda Governorate in the center of the country, which, according to their statement, resulted in the death of 23 Houthi elements and the injury of dozens of others.

The "Giants Brigades" forces stated that they launched "a wide military operation against the terrorist Houthi militias in Al-Bayda Governorate."

They added that their forces "managed during the operation to take control of advanced strategic sites and areas where Houthi militias were stationed," following confrontations that forced the group's elements to retreat from those sites.

They pointed out that the operation resulted in "the death of at least 23 Houthi elements, and the injury of dozens during the confrontations, alongside inflicting losses on the militias in their military equipment and machinery."

The "Giants Brigades" confirmed the continuation of their military operations in Al-Bayda, aiming to "secure the sites that have been controlled and enhance field progress across various operation axes," according to the statement.

There was no immediate comment from the Houthi group regarding what was mentioned in the "Giants Brigades" statement.

Earlier on Monday, the Yemeni army announced making field progress and launching 13 airstrikes targeting Houthi sites, gatherings, and machinery in Al-Bayda Governorate.

This comes at a time when several fronts in Yemen are witnessing military escalation between government forces and the Houthis, particularly in Taiz, Al-Jawf, and Al-Bayda governorates, concurrently with airstrikes targeting the group's sites.

Yemen has been witnessing a war since the Houthis took control of the capital, Sana'a, and several governorates in September 2014, before a Saudi-led Arab coalition intervened in March 2015 to support the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
