The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented, on Wednesday, 7 attacks carried out by the Israeli army and settlers against farmers and their properties in 4 governorates in the occupied West Bank within 12 hours, including the arrest of 4 Palestinians and the uprooting of more than 50 fruit trees.
This came in a statement by the Commission, in which it clarified that the attacks took place between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Wednesday, and targeted farmers and their properties during the olive harvest season.
The Commission reported that the attacks included "the destruction and leveling of agricultural lands, the uprooting of more than 50 olive and almond trees, in addition to the demolition of agricultural facilities and a 35-meter-long retaining wall, and the destruction of water tanks" in the Bethlehem governorate in the southern West Bank.
In the Nablus governorate in the northern West Bank, the Commission documented the Israeli army's arrest of 4 Palestinians while they were harvesting olives in the town of Burqa.
It also monitored the prevention of farmers from the town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank, from reaching their agricultural fields.
In the villages of Al-Mazra'a ash-Sharqiya and Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah, settlers released their livestock into agricultural lands, which led to the destruction of crops, according to the Commission.
The Commission warned of the escalation of Israeli attacks on farmers during the olive harvest season, considering that they "confirm the integration of military pressure tools and settler violence."
It called on the international community to intervene immediately to provide protection for Palestinian farmers and to hold Israel accountable for these violations.
With the start of the genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Israeli army has escalated its operations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, coinciding with the rise of settler terrorism.
These attacks have resulted in the killing of more than 1,220 Palestinians and the injury of about 13,350 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 26,000.
