Water violations seized in Umm Al-Amad, causing the withdrawal of nearly half a million cubic meters

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority stated that its campaign, carried out by the Internal Control Unit in cooperation with the Miyahuna company and the Public Security Directorate to curb water line violations across all regions of the Kingdom, revealed new violations on Thursday in the Umm Al-Amad area, south of the capital, Amman.

The Ministry explained that the violations involved drawing from two 4-inch lines connected to a main 200mm carrier line that supplies the areas of Umm Al-Amad, Manja, and Umm Rummana, noting that the quantities of water withdrawn are estimated at about half a million cubic meters, used to supply farms and ponds.

It added that the violations were seized and removed, conditions were restored to their original state, and official reports regarding the incident were prepared and referred to the competent authorities to complete the investigation and apprehend the violators.

The Ministry indicated that the illegal connections were disconnected and official reports regarding the incident were prepared.
