Water leakage from a main pipeline floods homes in the western neighborhood of Al-Hamra town for two weeks

Residents of the western neighborhood in Al-Hamra town, Mafraq Governorate, are complaining about the continuous flow of water into their homes, which has been flooding them for about two weeks due to a leak from a main water pipeline in the area, amid demands for an urgent resolution to the problem and to limit the damage caused to citizens' homes and property.

Citizens Bassam Hamid and Akram Sharaf Al-Khalidi stated that water has been flowing into homes for two weeks, which raises residents' fears of worsening damage as the problem continues without a radical solution.

They emphasized the importance of the concerned authorities, particularly the water sector staff, taking action to inspect the leak site, determine its causes, and work on repairing the main pipeline urgently to ensure the water flow is stopped and the residents' homes and property are protected.

They called on the competent authorities to give the problem the necessary attention, respond to the citizens' appeals, and put an end to their suffering, which has been ongoing for two weeks, stressing the need to address the defect at its roots to prevent its recurrence in the future.

Al-Khalidi called on the Mafraq Water Administration to respond quickly to malfunctions affecting water networks to preserve the safety of citizens and their property, reduce water waste, and ensure it reaches subscribers efficiently, especially at a time when the concerned authorities are making every effort to reduce the percentage of water loss.

For his part, the media spokesperson for the Yarmouk Water Company, the main operator of the water sector in Mafraq Governorate, confirmed that the issue is under consideration and that specialists have been informed of the situation so that it can be dealt with as quickly as possible and repaired.
