The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is implementing 49 specialized training programs in the tourism sector, in cooperation with the Vocational Training Corporation, Mostaqbal Al-Urdon for Sustainable Development/Future Capacities Fund, and the Jordanian Company for Hotel and Tourism Education, targeting about 1100 participants in the first and second phases.
The implementation of the programs is part of the Ministry's efforts to qualify national capacities and enhance the readiness of human resources to meet the needs of the tourism sector and the labor market, within the framework of the Ministry's approach to enhance specialized training and develop the capabilities of workers, job seekers, and tourism service providers in various governorates of the Kingdom.
The number of participants in the training programs in the first phase since its launch 10 days ago until now is about 858 participants, including job seekers and tourism service providers, distributed across 30 institutes affiliated with the Vocational Training Corporation and Amman College, in addition to a number of associations.
The training programs cover fields related to the needs of the tourism sector, including handicrafts, food industries, hotel and tourism services, food and beverage services, digital marketing, project management for associations, artificial intelligence tools, in addition to occupational safety and health programs.
The Ministry aims through these programs to enable participants to acquire practical and specialized skills, improve the quality of tourism services and experiences provided to visitors, and provide the sector with trained and capable capacities to meet the requirements of the labor market.
Before the start of the programs, the registration stages were completed, applications were received, interviews were conducted, and participants were selected, under the supervision of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Vocational Training Corporation, in cooperation with the Jordanian Hotels Association and the Tourism Restaurants Association, to guide participants to the appropriate training programs according to the nature of each field and the needs of the sector.
The programs target job seekers to qualify and enable them to obtain opportunities in the tourism sector, in addition to workers in the sector to develop their skills and improve the quality of the services provided, as well as tourism service providers and local experience providers from local communities in various governorates.
The Ministry confirmed that the implementation of these programs comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to develop human capital in the tourism sector, enhance the alignment of training programs with labor market needs, which contributes to providing qualified national cadres and enabling local community members to benefit from economic and developmental opportunities linked to tourism activity in various regions of the Kingdom.
The program reflects the partnership approach adopted by the Ministry with relevant training entities and the private sector, with the aim of enhancing the level of tourism services and strengthening the competitiveness of the sector, and supporting its role in providing job opportunities and local development.
