The United Nations warns of continued Israeli attacks in Gaza despite the ceasefire

The United Nations warned on Wednesday of continued Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire, alongside ongoing obstacles to the entry of humanitarian aid.

Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq said during a press conference that various areas of Gaza witnessed airstrikes, artillery shelling, building demolitions, naval gunfire, and armed attacks yesterday, Tuesday, and today, Wednesday.

Haq explained that most of these violations occurred west of what is known as the "Yellow Line," emphasizing the necessity of protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure at all times.

He pointed out that the United Nations and its partners continue to bring much-needed supplies into Gaza, but the available aid remains insufficient to meet the needs of the population.

Haq added: "According to our partners, aid is restricted due to a lack of funding and Israeli obstacles, including restrictions on the import of vital materials such as engine oil and spare parts, as well as access restrictions to more than 64 percent of the Gaza Strip."

This comes in light of the continuous Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025.

As of Wednesday, Israeli violations of the agreement have resulted in the death of 1,501 Palestinians and the injury of 5,323 others, according to the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.

Since the start of the genocide in October 2023, Israel has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians, injured over 175,000, and destroyed about 90 percent of the infrastructure.
