The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announces a "large-scale cyberattack" targeting its mobile application

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on Monday that its mobile application, used primarily to alert residents of Ukrainian drone attacks, had been subjected to a "large-scale cyberattack."

The ministry stated on Telegram, "The application belonging to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations was subjected to a large-scale cyberattack, which allowed the attackers to disseminate false information among the population. Work is currently underway to address the security vulnerability in the application and restore its normal operation."

This announcement comes shortly after the Ukrainian Air Force announced that its official application, used by Ukrainians to receive alerts regarding Russian airstrikes, had been hacked.
