The Council of Ministers also approved an amended system for the Social Insurance and Medical Committees of the General Organization for Social Insurance for the year 2026.
The amendments aim to empower the committees of the General Organization for Social Insurance and grant them sufficient flexibility to prevent insured individuals from losing their contribution periods that qualify them for the insurance benefits stipulated under the provisions of the Social Insurance Law.
They also aim to improve the governance of the insurance committees' decisions and ensure their compliance with the provisions of the law, regulations, and instructions issued thereunder.
The amendments allow the insurance committees to convert the contribution periods that are canceled due to the lack of sufficient evidence to prove the validity of the work into optional contribution periods, in order to ensure that the insured individual is not deprived of receiving the retirement salary as a result of the cancellation of previous contribution periods.
