Taekwondo competitions will take place at the Toyohashi Hall from the 1st to the 3rd of October, starting at 9 AM. The Jordanian participation will be over two days, the 2nd and 3rd of the same month, according to the official program of the Games.
Al-Dawoud will start the Jordanian participation next Friday, competing in the under 58 kg weight category, while the same day will see Saleh Al-Sharbati and Mohammad Al-Adrabah competing in the under 80 kg weight category, alongside Razan Al-Rawashdeh in the under 67 kg weight category.
The Jordanian participation will continue the following Saturday, with Zaid Mustafa entering the competition in the under 68 kg weight category, and Fadia Kharfan in the under 57 kg weight category, and Rama Abu Al-Rub in the over 67 kg weight category, within the last day of taekwondo competitions in the Games.
The team had completed the final stage of its preparations through a closed training camp held at Prince Rashid Hall in the Hussein Youth City, as part of the program prepared for the Asian event, where the technical staff focused on raising the technical and physical readiness of the players and putting the final touches before departure, in addition to reviewing the technical details of the upcoming competitions.
The camp came after a series of participations by the team's players during the current season, in a program characterized by the proximity and diversity of commitments between continental and international championships, where the technical staff worked to maintain the readiness of the group and benefit from the contact with different levels of players, leading to the Asian commitment.
Jordanian taekwondo enters the Nagoya competitions with a distinguished record in the Asian Games, having participated in all editions of the Games since Jordan's first appearance in Seoul in 1986, and succeeded in winning 27 medals, including three gold, 13 silver, and 11 bronze.
The Asian Games is one of the important stops in the team's program during the season, especially with the presence of a number of players with Olympic and world experience, alongside elements that have achieved remarkable results at the continental level. The participation also comes within a long path of preparation for upcoming commitments, most notably the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028, which is a long-term goal for the current generation of players.
After its participation in the Games, the team will embark on a new international stop represented by the third round of the Grand Prix (G6) series, hosted by the French capital Paris from October 9-11.
Participation in the third round comes just days after the Asian Games, forming an extension of the international competition program that the team's players are undergoing during the season, given the importance of international commitments in the players' career and ranking, and benefiting from contact with the best players in the world.
